Handbrake-the best solution for DVD to iPod

My daughter recently graduated from 5th grade and will be moving into Middle School. Here in CA. that’s a big deal and they have a graduation for it and everything.

As a present we gave my daughter an iPod Nano which as most know will play video. She loves it and of course now wants to watch everything on it. That said, she of course came to her dad wanted to digitize video to do it.

But how to do it? (more…)

Xiaolin Showdown Season ONE Review

While I have to admit I am biased (because I worked on it), Xiaolin Showdown is a great show. The story gets better as the series goes on and it has susinct voices that match the characters personalities very well. The characters, Omi, Raimundo, Kimiko and Clay are all young martial artists going to a school to learn to be Xiaolin warriors with the bumps of growing up getting in the way constantly.

Personally my favorite character is Jack Spicer because he’s more or less an idiot and I can fully identify with that! I love his gadgets which are odd and for the most part useless. Wuya the Witch is a great character as well because she is ineffectual ude to her being a ghost causing an interwsting dynamic between her and Jack who have teamed up to destroy the world through the Shen gong Wu talismans that pop up across the earth.
There is many things about this show that make it first rate in my opinion. But don’t take my word for it go buy it! The characters, the plot, the humor, the different personalities, and the colorful animation style. This is a must have DVD!

Pinky and the Brain on DVD!

It’s official! Pinky and the Brain and Animaniacs are coming to DVD on July 25th! Very cool! It’s about time I gotta say, nothing like striking while the iron is hot huh? Pinky and the Brain is over 10 years old and Animaniacs is 12 years old. It’s hard to believe it’s taken this long to finally get them out but I am glad they finally did. I hope there’s some cool extras on it. the article mentios Maurice LaMarsh (voice of The Brain)will be hosting the series so that should be cool.

I was fortunate enough to work on both of these series back in “the day” so I guess that’s why I am looking forward to it. Not really sure if any kids even know what these shows are (or care for that matter. you can learn more about the series here.) but they are the reason TV animation is as big as it is in my opinion.

Now if they would only release a Tazmania DVD (clip) or a Histeria DVD.(clip) Although I doubt that as they were not hit shows like P&B and Animaniacs. Still, I’d like to get all the epsides on DVD.

I worked on probably about 20 episodes of Tazmania and 20 or more episodes of Animaniacs. As for Pinky and the Brain I directed I think 7 of them and worked on the first one when it was just a segement on Animaniacs among others.

By the way I was perusing the link I gave you above and I notivced that three of the P&B cartoons I directed got a perfect score on the site! Pretty cool! One was called Dangerous Brains and another was called The Tailor and the Mice.(clip) the third was called Pinky’s P.O.V. (clip) Granted it’s only dictated by a few votes but it’s still fun to think someone out there liked something I was a part of.
