Back from vacay!

I just returned from two awesome weeks in Cabo San Lucas at the bottom of the California Baha peninsula in Mexico. I am probably the tannest I have ever been in my life except for the summer I spent working on a farm in New Jersey as a teen.

It was an awesome time and we had a lot of fun. I caught two marlin; each over 90 lbs. but we threw them back because they’re such pretty fish. We saw a lot of sting rays breach out of the water trying to catch bugs in thier mouths. It was great. We even had a tropical storm blow in and had 30 foot waves crashing over the walls of our condo. It was truly something.
I ate a lot of sushi there too. As for work, I start my new job animating for Jay Jay the Jet plane tomorrow and I’m really excited about it as I’ll be back working with an old friend Bob Arvin who owns 3DBob Productions
there’s a lot of really great stuff happening over there and I am proud to be a part of it.

I am also hopefully going to finally start production on a direct-to-video 3D film at the end of this month which I hope will be a huge success. I will release more details as it finalizes but suffice it to say it’ll be awesome if it happens and I’ve extremely excited about it!

Although I really doubt anyone ever reads this anyway, it’s a way to keep my front page uncluttered which does get a ton of hits. Over 90 per day, sometimes more which is pretty good as far as I’m concerned!

Another interesting thing about this site is that if you do a search for “Animation Studios” on google.com our studio is ranked number 7 not far from Blue Sky and Pixar. It even beats out Warner Bros, Film Roman, Universal and Mike Young Productions in rank, all places I’ve worked. Now if I could just turn in the $revenue$ of some of those places… ;-)

My final bit of news is that I am currently trying to write a new book, in the Zaptoons style about an eternally optomistic pig named Planetary Pig which I hope I will actually finish. I have started at leasty four books to date all of which lie in some dusty spot on my computer’s hard drive just waiting for me to find some time to add to the few chapters I’ve finished. I am the king of starting personal projects and not seeing them through but I am determined to finish a novel by the end of this year. I guess we’ll see if I can do it.

Anyway, not much of any substance to report but I didn’t want to have this page look like it was “dead” so I posted something.

Milowerx 4th of July

Well another Independence day has come and gone and here at Milowerx we had another rip roarin’ bash! this year over 50 people showed up from all walks of lie; we had kids, oh yeah tons of kids, hotties, grandmas, and animators. It was truly fun.
One of the traditions every year is for the kids to sucker me into throwing them in the pool and this year was no different. At times I had some 12 kids lined up behind me in the pool waiting to be throw. MAN! Were my arms sore! Still it was a lot of fun, we roasted marshmallows, played Bocce ball, went down the water slide and we even saw 5 different fireworks shows from the comfort of our roof!

We had a water slide for all the kids! I went down and nearly blew it up!

Bocce Ball was a big hit! We played 5 games until the sun went down…

We even got the chance to roast marshmallows!

Happy 4th of July!

Well if you don’t know, it is almost the 4th of July here in the states which is when we celebrate our liberty from England in 1776. For me it’s really the kick-off of the summer, our poll is warm enough to swim in, the kids play outside and the top of my jeep comes off until Fall. That of course means that I get some sun which is important because with my always working and sitting at a desk with my head down if it wasn’t for the Jeep and it allowing me some much needed color I’d be a pretty pasty individual! Every year Harry changes his website to reflect Independence Day and this year is no different!

The drawing was of course done by yours truly but Harry colored it and I think he did a great job, especially considering the scan I sent him! I especially like the fire coming from the rocket! Very cool!
I also changed my front page which you might have already seen because you’re reading this but if not, here it is just for you!

I added a bit of animation to mine as well and I guess that fits well because after all, Milowerx, is an animation studio is it not? So there you have it! Anyway, Happy 4th of July eveyone!
