It would be funny if it wasn’t true…
Most, not all, but most of these politicians are lying, greedy and power hungry. Most of the money , our money, is spent irresponsibly and is wasted. There is very little accountability to these people because the average American does not PAY ATTENTION. The average American is too busy with there own lives and do not follow the issues closely enough. Most get there information from a 30 second talking point or bias news story. Many people just follow along with a political party because they always have, their family have or their peers do. I have quizzed many, many “voters” on who they are voting for and why. You may be amazed that many of them are 100% sure who they are voting for but have no idea of the issues their candidate stands for. When I ask them are you for this or that and I break the issues down point by point they usually answer over 95% of the time, with the conservative view. If a conservative is who they were voting for fine, but they should know why. But many are not voting conservative. Yet when I explain to them that there candidate wants the opposite of what they answered they don’t believe it, or they don’t want to believe it because then they would need to question their beliefs and that is way too much work for them.
I propose that in order to have the right to vote we should have to pass a test on the top 6 issues. So any Americans who are voting and do not have a clear understanding of what your candidate stands for (and that is over half of you, hence Obama) should not be voting until they are educated on the issues. Why do I say this, because again many, many people I have spoken to, read about or have seen on news have no idea of what Obama has done, his beliefs or what he stands for, except CHANGE. Change could mean anything. In and of itself it means nothing and change doesn’t mean its better. Newsflash, change could be worse! We just took a disgracefully overspending federal government and voted in a guy who wants to grow this wasteful over spending bureaucracy to even greater dizzying heights. That’s what he has done in the past, that is his track record. The thing I like about him is, sure he came close to the center during this election, but basically he really didn’t hide who he is. He basically said elect me and I’m going to spend your money beyond belief. That’s why he’s not the problem. The uninformed voter is!
I saw one women at a Obama rally. She was overcome with emotion. When the reporter ask why she said that when Obama gets in she will not have to pay for gas for her care or worry about paying my mortgage anymore. If I help him, he will help me. she said. This women actually believes that she will not have anymore bills now that Obama’s in. Boy is she going to be in for a shocker!!! I wish someone would interview her 1-2 years down the road and ask her how it’s going with those bills…lol. This is what I mean about “qualifying” to be able to vote.
We do need change, for the better. I don’t think we got it! Based on the information about Obama he was the wrong choice. Having said that what’s done is done. Let’s hope for the best . I’ll give Obama a chance and I’ll judge him on what he does. Let’s all keep a close eye on him as well as our senators and congressmen.. Remember we are in this mortgage crisis because the government didn’t do the job we hired them for. They provided poor oversight and accepted questionable contribution from the people they were supposed to be watching. It is the responsibility of us, the voters, to watch these people we hired and make sure that they do their jobs. It is our responsibility to fire them when they don’t do their jobs!
